Counterpoint explores the relationship between hand drawn recessed markings and the smooth field of the tile. As in music, each line of markings are harmonically interdependent yet independent from the field as a whole. Imagine multiple installations with the markings accepting the grout or leaving them untouched to create more depth and dimension.
